DANIELI Co – Italy, Vietnam and Thailand
May 2012 to August 2014
I was working in the quality departments of Danieli, involved in fabrication of pressure and lifting equipment for making steel factories around the world.
Gantry cranes for workshops were a regular product that Danieli Thailand was fabricating. Tower cranes for installing Iron oxidizing reactors was another lifting equipment developed and produced by Danieli Centro Cranes.
At the same time I was involved in the production of pressure equipment, with PSA Absorbers and Hydrogen service vessels being regular products, heat exchangers and heat recovery equipment.
Steel structures and steel heavy machines fabrications.
May 2012 to June 2012 – NDT specialist in Danieli Buttrio – Italy (Headquarters);
During this period my responsibilities were to understand Danieli culture, systems, work flow and meet the key persons within the company. The target was to be able to work autonomously in South East Asia, Vietnam and Thailand and support Danieli Co. establishing the QA/QC department in Vietnam.
This also involved work in QA/QC department and in the production/testing work shop.
July 2012 until August 2013 – QC Manager and NDT Appointed Level 3 for Danieli in Vietnam;
My responsibilities were to set up the QA/QC department in Vietnam, department that will assure that the products manufactured by the Vietnamese suppliers are meeting Danieli Standards. Performing internal (Danieli Vietnam) and external audits, suppliers audits and qualification.
We were working with 10 suppliers, from North to South of Vietnam. Our office was based in Ho Chi Min City.
In August 2013 the QA/QC department had a team of 7 and was up to speed.
From September 2013 until August 2014 – QC Manager of Pressure Vessels Division of Danieli Thailand;
The work increased in Danieli Thailand and the pressure vessels division was facing difficulties on the QA/QC side because key persons had left the company at short notice.
I accepted the move to Thailand and supported the pressure vessels division of Danieli.
My responsibilities were: – ASME Certifications – maintain and renewal plan;
– ISO 9001 – maintain the systems and establish systems & procedures when
necessary;
– Test & Inspections control – establish, review, and update test & inspection procedures
and instructions, ensure test & inspection tools are controlled & suitable for use;
– Monitor and analyse the non-conformity and issue corrective actions or preventive
actions when necessary.
– Internal and external audits
– NDT Appointed Level 3, training and qualifying internal personal for performing NDT
– Supervising and conduct the NDT activities (MT, PT, UT, RT and PAUT)
This was my most intense role, I was coordinating a team of 20 and I was the youngest in the team.
When I left Danieli Thailand we have achieved:
- The renewal of the ASME certification, SS, PP, U1 and U2.
- The delivery of PSA Absorbers for Linde – product under ASME Code – VIII Div 1.
- The delivery and commissioning of a Basic Oxygen Furnace (the biggest in the world at that time) for Arcelor Mittal in Poland
BLOCK Materialprüfung GmbH – Berlin, Germany
September 2010 – April 2012
I was employed as a quality physicist (quality engineer) at Block Materialprüfung GmbH – Berlin Germany. I was involved in Research and Development of Ultrasonic Testing Equipment and in providing NDT services to our clients.
Our projects were for: Siemens – Power Generation, Vattenfall, Alstom, DB, E-on, S-bahn Berlin, Stork, FST- industrie GmbH, BMW, Rolls Royce.
At Block Materialprüfung I had the chance to work all over Europe being involved in creating new technologies and products but also in power plant shut downs and having a focus on testing the steam turbines and boilers / economisers.
Interesting projects for the aeronautic sector, testing gas turbines for aircrafts – new components for Rolls Royce and automotive parts for BMW.
The role was challenging because most of the parts manufactured had to meet requirements above the usual standards and more than once we had to create the testing procedures and acceptance criteria for the new parts.
This involved a total life cycle product analyse, and the interaction between departments giving me the opportunity to see all the steps, from design to manufacturing and focusing on non-destructive testing and mechanical testing.

Had the chance to inspect raw material, at the purchasing / receptions of material, at different stages, as casted and as forged, welded, and machined. Also the company had a heat treatment department and had the chance to work with them.
At Popeci Company I had a very good experience creating the basic of my industrial experience. Worked in projects in many industrial sectors: power generation, mining sectors, recycling sectors, aeronautics, and heavy industry.
